Accel Color’s Naperville, Illinois, facility was recently certified as meeting the stringent requirements of ISO 9001:2008 for the design and manufacture of custom-formulated coloring systems for plastics by SRI Quality System Registrar.
ISO 9001:2008 is process based. Certification recognizes organizations that can link business objectives with operating effectiveness. Companies that achieve management system certification to ISO 9001:2008 have demonstrated effective implementation of documentation and records management, top management’s commitment to their customers, establishment of clear policy, good planning and implementation, good resource management, and efficient process control, measurement, and analysis.
Accel Color was acquired in the spring of 2008 by Techmer PM, a major producer of value-adding colorants and additives for the plastics and fiber industries. That autumn Accel Color launched an intensive program to qualify for ISO certification. Accel’s Avon, Ohio, facility became ISO 9001:2008 certified in January 2010.
“We’re, of course, proud of our ISO 9001:2008 certification,” says Dwight Morgan, Managing Director of Accel Color. “But we’re even more proud of the success that we help our customers achieve. Our customers know that Accel delivers nothing but the best custom color systems.”
Accel Color was founded in 1998 with the mission of bringing products and services with speed, quality, and economy to the plastics processing industry. Accel Color offers a full line of custom and proprietary products and services including color and additive concentrates, dry color blends, chemical foaming agents, and toll and custom compounding from sites in Avon, Ohio, and Naperville, Illinois.
